Sarah Cummings-Cove

Sarah joined the Eldorado chorus in 2003 for ‘Anything Goes’ after a twenty-something year break from musical theatre, having played Sarah Brown in ‘Guys n’ Dolls’ for the Forest Hill Youth Theatre. During her 20s and 30s Sarah enjoyed choral singing with the Medici Choir, performing at Westminster Abbey and the Albert Hall among other venues, and joined the Blackheath Choir in 1997. Her first leading role for Eldorado was Ruth in the Broadway ‘Pirates of Penzance’ (2004). Since then she has played a variety of most enjoyable parts, notably Ursala March opposite Chris Arden in ‘Sweet Charity’ (2008) and the housekeeper Frau Schmidt in ‘The Sound of Music’ (2004). She has also appeared in several revues including the last Eldorado show, ‘Putting Them Together’, in which she appeared in one number as a faded courtesan and then led the chorus as Dolly in ‘Put on your Sunday Clothes’ where she finally managed to sing and dance with a man and a parasol at the same time! Sarah is also a member of TEPOS and last year hugely enjoyed playing Mrs Singh in ‘Blitz’, whose authentic Indian costumes were a thrill to wear. In recent years Sarah has participated in the Blackheath Halls Chorus and has appeared in the Community Operas Bizet’s ‘Carmen’ (2007) and Gluck’s ‘Orpheus and Eurydice’ (2009). The latter was hugely well reviewed in ‘The Independant’.
